Week of March 22nd

We are very excited to begin bringing all the latest news from our independent bookstore straight to you on this blog. At Page After Page we are very fortunate to have such wonderful and loyal customers. This new blog, which will be updated weekly, is designed to keep you informed about upcoming titles that we'll be receiving, let you know about in-store events like author signings and storytime readings, and share any exciting bookworld news.

We just had a great Percy Jackson event this weekend. The children dressed up as their favorite characters from the Olympians Series. The costumes were incredible. The best-dressed was supposed to receive a special gift. However, the costumes were so well done that ALL the guests were given the special gift, a Signed Bookplate from the author of the Percy Jackon Series, Rick Riordan. We also had a train birthday party in the store Saturday morning. It was a lot of fun. The children had a great time, and we are hoping to have more birthday parties at Page After Page. Please call the store if you're interested in details.

This coming Saturday, March 27th, local favorite Bland Simpson will be in the store. His book The Inner Islands is debuting in paperback. Mr. Simpson will be in the store at 11am, signing copies and chatting it up with customers. He is a member of the Tony Award winning Red Clay Ramblers. He is a collaborator on the musical King Mackerel & the Blues are Running. Also, he teaches creative writing at UNC Chapel Hill and was the 2005 Fine Arts recipient of the North Carolina Award. Come in and meet him this weekend.

Next Saturday, April 3rd, we will be hosting an Easter event at 11am. It'll be a hoppin' good time as we bring in the Easter holiday. We'll have stories, the bunny hop, games, and a special snack! Pre-registration required. $9.99 fee, includes Corduroy's Easter Party.

New Titles in stock:

Fang by James Patterson. The latest thrilling edition in the Maximum Ride Series.

Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang by Chelsea Handler. The most recent outlandish exploits are now in print.

The Pacific by Hugh Ambrose. Inspiration for the HBO miniseries.

New for next week:

Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama's Radical Agenda by Sean Hannity. A call to arms.

Again, we are very excited to get this blog started. Please let us know what you think.
